One of the important complex buildings of Bangkok is the Grand Palace. The Grand Palace is actually the official residence of King of Thailand. This has been the official residence of the king from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. Situated on the east bank of the river Chao Phraya, the construction of the palace began in 1782. Some of the important parts of the Grand Palace will be the Wat Phra Kaew(temple of Emerald Buddha), Chakri Mahaprasad Hall, Prasad Phra Debidorn and a lot more.

Reaching Grand Palace:
The Grand Palace remains open from 8:30am to 3:30pm everyday. For the people of Thailand there is no entrance fee but for the people from other parts of the world will be charged around 200Baht. There are various ways through which you can reach Grand Palace. There are buses like 44, 47, and 91 which will you take you there. Other than this there are buses like 1, 25, 82, 15, 30, 43, 59, 64 and a lot more which can also take you to the concerned destination.
Architecture and Attractions of Grand Palace:
The structure or the architecture of the building is unique in itself. Wat Phra Kaew is build according to the Thai style whereas Grand Palace is basically inspired by the European style. The palace is basically used for the occasional ceremonies. Presently it is no longer the official residence of the king. The present king lives in the Chitralada Palace. The Grand Palace also has a museum which provides you with the information about the restoration of the palace and also has models of Wat and palace and other Buddha images. The entrance fee of the museum is 50B and there are tourist guides who will help you in visiting the museum. Other than the museum there is also a hall which is also known as the Grand Palace Hall.
