Chinatown(Yaowarat) is one of the vibrant districts of Bangkok. Chinatown(Yaowarat) has a vibrant Chinese gate which is continues to the Ong Ang Canal. This canal marks the exteriors of the district. There are various gold shops lined through the road of Yaowarat but when we speak of the gold shops in Bangkok, it has to be Chinatown(Yaowarat). The Chinatown(Yaowarat) was basically built by the Chinese community. A large number of Chinese traders came and settled at this place in Bangkok. Later on as the community grew, the king accepted them as a part of Thailand and made the larger Yaowarat road for them.

Chinatown(Yaowarat) is a very beautiful place which has many breathtaking locales which you can explore on foot. This place also has an Indian market which is located at Phahurat and also a flower market. There are many interesting places in Chinatown(Yaowarat), which you can visit and a list opf them is given below:
Wat Traimit: This is a small temple which boasts of the largest gold Buddha statue in the world. This image is of five ton and sits in a small wiharn inside the temple.
Tiean Fa Charity: This is a small clinic which is run by the Tien Fa Charitable foundation. There is a large chapel of goddess Ming inside the courtyard.
Various Historical Buildings: There are various historical buildings in Chinatown(Yaowarat). All these buildings are considered to be important historical landmarks of Bangkok. There is a Tang To Gung gold shop which is one of the famous gold shops here.
Sampaeng Lane: This is one of the important lanes in Chinatown(Yaowarat). All the important shops are situated here.
Wat Mangkon Kamalawat: These is a Chinese-Buddhist temple. All the important festivals of the Chinese people are celebrated here.
Wat Kanikaphon: This is a small temple and is known because this temple was built by a former madame who was the owner of a brothel.
Li Thi Miew Temple: This is another important temple of the Chinese people.
Wat Chakrawat: This is one of the third biggest monasteries and has a few crocodiles.
Phahurat Market: This market has a large number of stalls which has a collection of fabric and wedding stalls. A small community of Sikhs hve opened this market when they came and settled here.
The Old Siam: This place is known for the availability of various kinds of cuisines. A large number of western and Thai food shops are found here.
