The ancient city of Wat Maha ThatWat Na Phra Mane is one of the major tourist attractions in Thailand. It is nearly 417 years old. It was built by king U Thong in the year 1350. Since then, this tiny city has witnessed the rule of 33 kings until it was taken over by the Burmese in the year 1767. It is located nearly 72 KM north of Bangkok.
The Wat Maha ThatWat Na Phra Mane has several ancient ruins rich in artistic and historic value. The Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park that lies at the center of the city has been included in the list of the World Heritage by UNESCO on 13th November, 1991. Thousands of tourists visit this place to view the country's

rich historic past.
The site is open daily from 8:30 in the morning to 4:00 in the evening. The site contains several structures worth admiration. Some of the popular structures in Wat Maha ThatWat Na Phra Mane are as follows:
- Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit: This Ayutthayan assembly hall is the home of the highly respected Phra Mongkol Bopit. The pearl eyed statue and the pillars with lotus designs add charm and grandure to the monument.
- Wat Na Phra Mane: Situated in the midst of fresh green over growth, this temple of Buddha represent the golden era of the Thai dynasty. It was built in the year 1503. The statue of Buddha is 6 meter tall and is decorated in the style of the Ayutthaya period.
- Chao Sam Phraya National Museum: This museum located within the premises of the Wat Maha ThatWat Na Phra Mane ancient city displays several statues of Buddha belonging to the Ayutthaya period. You can also see remains of the treasures of the Thai Dynasty.
