The structure and the statue had been a subject of damage and erosion. In the year 1954 the Department of Fine Arts and Alcoholic Beverage Factory funded the renovation of the statue. The renovation work was completed in the year 1989 by Lady Rabiab Dhamrongnahwahsawat.
The entire temple premise is filled with different sizes of statues of Buddhas. The main Buddha statue is situated outdoor without a vihara or a shelter. However it is believed that earlier there used to be a tin shelter over the statue. But after being struck twice by lightning, the local authorities decided to remove the vihara.
