Flights from New Delhi

New Delhi is the capital of the Indian Republic. It is the seat of the Government of the Capital Territory of Delhi. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) is located in southwest Delhi. It serves both domestic and international routes. During 2006-07, the IGI airport witnessed traffic of more than 19.4 million passengers, rendering it as one of the busiest airports in South Asia. Safdarjung Airport is, also, used for general aviation purpose. New Delhi has a calculated net State Domestic Product (SDP) of 83,085 crore (830.85 billion) Indian rupee for the year 2004-05. Delhi is definitely an important center of commerce in South Asia. Delhi has a booming economic sector, which is ever expanding.
The growth of Delhi's service sector can be largely attributed to the huge skilled English-speaking workforce that has drawn a number of multinational companies to the state. Information technology, telecommunications, hotels, banking, media and tourism are among the key service industries in Delhi. Delhi's manufacturing industry has, also, recorded growth. It is due to the establishment of manufacturing units and headquarters of many consumer goods industries in and around Delhi. All this has led to an influx of foreign investment in Delhi. In 2001, Delhi's retail industry has shown a remarkable growth.

Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport serves the city of Delhi. Delhi consists one of India's main domestic and international gateways. The airport has been so named, as a tribute to the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. There are two terminals: Terminal 1 is used to serve the domestic airlines while Terminal 2 is used for the international flights.
