Officially opened as a Royal Thai Air Force base in 1914, Don Muang Airport, Bangkok, Thailand started operating commercial flights in 1924. But the airport was shut after the inauguration of Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2006. The flights were resumed at Don Muang on March 24, 2007. Before it was shut down Don Muang was an important hub of Asia and the hub of Thai Airways. In its best seasons the airport attended most air traffic in Thailand, with 80 airlines running 160,000 flights
