One of the younger airlines around, Tiger Airways is a Singapore-based popular low-cost airline with major operations centered across Asia-Pacific region. Starting the commercial operations in August, 2004 following the model of Ryan Air the popular and successful European low-cost airline, Tiger Airways within a short span of time has carved a niche for itself amongst the low-cost airlines around.

Australia that accounts for services to other parts of Asia and the Pacific. An important feature of this airline is the online sale of its tickets that account for almost 85% of total sales. With a fleet of modern aircrafts Airbus A 320, it does have a current strength of 9 aircrafts with more acquisition in the pipeline.Thailand is one of the more important markets for Tiger Airways, both in terms of passenger traffic and revenues. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hat Yei, Krabi, Phuket and Udon Thani are the six popular destinations within Thailand that are serviced by Tiger Airways, accounting for a good chunk of its overall turnover. While flights to and from Singapore to Bangkok by Tiger Airways are regular on all weekdays, on the Krabi-Singapore route it is 5-days a week and on the Chinag Mai-Singapore route it is twice a week. The popular and lucrative Singapore-Phuket air route is operated upon by Tiger Airways 7-days a week. Similarly on the Darwin-Phuket route, Tiger Airways operates flights on all days of the week whereas the Krabi-Drawin air route sees flights 5-days a week by Tiger Airways.
As a new and low-cost airline contending in a fiercely competitive international air travel industry, Tiger Airways has come up with a number of innovative and attractive "Tiger Add-Ons" that provide for hotel deals, car rental, travel insurance and a host of associated facilities to make the journey a smooth and pleasant one. As a fledgling airline, Tiger Airways has ambitious strategy up its sleeve that includes plans to increase the size of the fleet to 20 by 2010, increase the Indian destinations to 6 and enhance the range of operations to Australia and other emerging destinations.
